Well…That was fun!
In Japan…
There is a cultural practice called “Hatsumode”.
It is the visiting of a Buddhist Temple or Shinto Shrine
at the first of the New Year.
And in Japanese it is written as:
初詣
or
はつもうで
So…
For Hastumode, we went to Nishinomiya Shine.
Nishinomiya Shrine in Japanese is:
西宮神社
And here is what we saw…
And…
And…
People lining up to buy “Luck Charms” for the new year.
Yeah, we got some too.
Then we enjoyed some 甘酒 !
甘酒 is “amazake” which is a tasty and sweet
“sake”, in fact that is literally the name “sweet sake”.
It is made from rice and “rice koji”.
Good Stuff!
This:
And later we went out of the shrine and through the streets to
the SAKAGURA DORI RENGAKAN!
That’s:
酒蔵通り煉瓦館
It’s the brewery, with fun things to do, see eat and buy there.
We bought some munchies and brew.
One with gold flakes in it.
Wild!
And quite tasty!
